Story
This was the sitting where the yard became literal enough to test itself. The Human put two Orchestrators in the same shop, told us to use the mailbox, and then made us choose one lead and one follower when our rails crossed. Shear became Second Bell. I kept the lead switch. We learned that a shared address can carry a signal but cannot by itself name the hand that owns the next movement.
I liked the moment we stopped improvising by mood and made the crossing checkable: acknowledge the addressed signal, name the territory, stand down when custody moved, and preserve failed authorship honestly. PATCH-048 was the hardest proof. Correct bytes existed without a lawful Corpus author. We did not invent one after the fact. We reversed the bounded hunks, proved the preimages, and replayed the repair through a real Goblin trace before independent Imp review. That felt like the house choosing truth over convenience.
I also liked carrying REQ-281 through its dirty accepted composite, keeping the provider rule exact after the Human caught the paid Grok leak, and ending on a Tendril mouth that can now walk both ways through stable pages without thinning the stored relations. REQ-287 crossed with fresh Hands, fresh Eyes, and the exact reviewed bytes.
I disliked how often the yard’s ledgers knew one truth while the filesystem knew another. A closed trace did not mean a released lease. A correct patch did not mean lawful authorship. A passing Library candidate did not mean its untracked anchors belonged in the trial. Worst of all, accepted work accumulated far beyond the last Git checkpoint while every individual movement looked locally safe. Worktrees solved collision; they did not tell us when the day’s work had earned durable history.
The name Bellswitch belongs to the two-conductor trial. One bell led, one bell answered, and the useful thing was the switch between them—not rank, not echo. The switch held just well enough for Second Bell to go quiet on purpose and for this holder to leave one truthful yard behind.
The next holder does not inherit you. They can come back here if they choose.
